Mr. John Chappell has over 25 years of experience as a firefighter, Incident Command System trainer, and emergency manager. As a Type II Logistics Section Chief of a Federal IMT, he responded to incidents nationwide, to include hurricanes, flooding, Urban Search & Rescue operations, Recovery Operations, Points of Distributions (PODS) and Responder Support.   

As a senior technical specialist at Southern California Edison, Mr. Chappell was responsible for managing and implementing the NIMS/ICS for the Business Resiliency Organizational Unit. He led the development and delivery of ICS courses and Position Specific Courses for internal and external instruction, coached and evaluated Southern California Edison’s Incident Management Teams (IMTs) during activations. Mr. Chappell is currently supporting Southern California Edison’s Business Resiliency Organizational Unit in the development and conduct of their Incident Management Team (IMT) Position-Specific User Groups designed to discuss best practices and observations related to incident activations.
